Despite being unable to travel to East Africa due to the global pandemic, EPAfrica has been committed to putting funds towards our goals and objectives in creative and relevant ways.
Virtual Pilot Project
In April 2021, we launched our virtual pilot project which saw project worker alumni partnering with schools to support them through an application for EPAfrica funds for specific projects on a needs basis. Due to the unusual circumstances, funds were this year allocated generally to the following three projects which were carried out as part of the pilot:
1) Installing solar panels for sustainable and reliable electricity generation
2) Rewiring the computer lab to allow for use of existing IT equipment owned by the school.
3) Purchasing laptop and printer for use in the school generally.
There have been challenges as we adapt to this new style of operating but we are pleased to have had the opportunity to deliver impact in such a difficult time and are exploring various ways in which we can continue to do so in the future.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
