Another earthquake and tsunami ravaged Indonesia in late December 2018, exacerbating the already vulnerable health care and social service ecosystems in place to care for mothers and babies. COHI is in communication with our long term collaborators Bumi Sehat. COHI began our working relationship with them after Typhoon Haiyan hit The Philippines. Bumi Sehat is a locally based, women-run organization that COHI has supported through funds, supplies, and the placement of volunteer midwives as they need them. COHI will continue to follow their lead on the emerging needs as they organize and mobilize to care for mothers and babies in Indonesia.
