The last months of the first semester of the year have been busy.
During May and June, visits were made to the communities with the motivation to continue mapping the needs and objectives of the people. Consultations were held with indigenous and peasant people to find out how they want to manage the land and how Diwö could support them in this process.
In addition to this, we are preparing for the execution of a new project in July, which aims to restore the ecosystem in the Boruca indigenous territory. The indigenous women will be working to improve the farm, especially the nurseries.
On this same farm, the first two stages of construction of a new community seed sanctuary have been completed, therefore, together with the indigenous women, an inauguration ceremony is expected to celebrate this great achievement.
In addition to this, we have sought new climate finance opportunities. These resources would help us meet the community's landscape restoration goals.
Our organization also continues to improve, we have carried out a strategic planning process in which we have received support from different entities, including Lightful. This will allow us to strengthen our organization to seek more and better opportunities for the people who benefit from our projects.
