As we finish the first half of the year, we look back and see great progress on this project to establish home hospice centers in Madhya Pradesh, India. Just recently, on June 17th, 2017, the physician from India arrived in Idaho to start his hospice care training. This training will last four weeks. After the training, he will return to Madhya Pradesh and establish a home hospice program in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh.
Our original goal was to bring four nurses and a physician to the United States for training. This plan wasn't successful as the nurses selected to train in the US were unable to obtain a visa to travel to Boise, Idaho. We recognize that these challenges are part of the process and we are not discouraged by this. We are currently working on sending volunteers (who are also hospice nurses) to Madhya Pradesh, India to train the nurses right there at their own setting.
We are grateful to you, the donor, and volunteers, and supporters of our home hospice program in India for helping us help the thousands of terminally ill patients in Madhya Pradesh spend the last few weeks or months of their lives in comfort, peace, and dignity.
We will update you via the project report and our newsletters about the progress of this project. Again, thank you for your support!
