By Arup Kumar Bhunia | Asst. Health Coordinator- Sundarbans
The exclusive unit in our Rural Health & Training Centre – Swarnalata Sabuj Seva Sadan that has been created for Covid -19 early detection and Post Facto care and arrangements for transfer to their higher facility health institutions has become an Institute for trust and dependence for all marginalised communities in deep Sundarbans villages more specifically which have poor communication facilities and hard to reach.
Ever since it started in July, 2022 till Mid April’22 end we could thus afford Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for 864 people altogether at the Health Centre, through outreach Camps and Home Visits. Out of which 47 were diagnosed Positive. 2 Patients were sent to Higher Facility Health Institutions.
Thus we are in consistent monitoring of the situation and hope for the normalcy to restore.
Our Mass Awareness and Media Campaigns are also progressing in consistency. We have also developed a Kiosk which are reaching out to hard to reach area people, and disseminating informations. Also people are being mobilized and supported for vaccinations.
We are deeply indebted to the National & International Charities who came forward for supporting our cause. But we need more support to continue supporting the cause with the fast changing scenario and continued increase of positive cases.
WE APPEAL TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS AND LIKE MINDED PEOPLE TO PLEASE JOIN OUR HANDS IN THIS VERY DIFFICULT ENDEAVOUR. PLEASE SUPPORT US TO STAND BY THE MARGINALISED PEOPLE GETTING IMPACTED BY THIS DEADLY DISEASE ACROSS VILLAGES OF SUNDERBANS
