Ever since the Pandemic– Covid -19 broke out across world and engulfed human race entirely. Physically we all are at edge with the fear of being contaminated with this deadly disease. The numbers of fatality and spread increased fast in unthinkable speed. Initially there were no remedies were known – then within a little time the treatments and vaccination are being made accessible to commoners.
Also the long and consistent lockdown and subsequent closure of business units, restricted mobility etc. has made thousands upon millions of people, who were migrated at distant places in different cities or even abroad, jobless overnight. Thus they remained helpless, without any earnings, without any security. This has compelled them to come back to their home cities/ villages. Also the restrictions in public transports like Trains, Buses pushed a huge number of marginalised impoverished people, who sustain on daily wages, without any job.
The increasing fear of being infected with this deadly disease, which is still continuing with the coming advent of 3rd wave in West Bengal, made people at large helpless. The government is trying hard to support and reach maximum numbers of people with support of immediate health care needs and vaccinations. But that seems insufficient with increase in numbers of probable patients and fast spread.
In such context Sabuj Sangha as a grass root level community based organisation has become active in standing by the marginalised helpless people who are at the edge of living and livelihood both across the 5 operation area districts of West Bengal and even beyond since last march, 2020.
The operation area districts of the West Bengal are South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Kolkata, East Midnapore and Alipurduar.
The organization continued supporting the impoverished marginalised people like migrated labourers, daily-wagers, street vendors, marginal farmers, residents of slums and squatter colonies with essential food materials across urban and rural areas with essential food / dry food materials supports with the support of various National and International Charities and Corporates.
Yet with the still continuing persistent problems these supports are still high in demand.
On the other hand the marginalised impoverished populations here were already at stake with lost earning resources as most of them are either daily wagers or migrated labourers and now came back. In such a situation any health issue are pushing them at fright. So do the conditions of marginalised people from remote Sunderbans.
Thus the basic supports that is highly required for people with breathing problem/ lung issues here at a helpless situation specifically the marginalised people of Sunderbans remote villages.
In such context Sabuj Sangha started reaching out to people with certain heath care needs’ supports at the remote villages of Sunderbans which are mostly riverine and coastal with difficult connectivity and transportation in their limited capacity and resources
In the recent initiative we remained able to provide the high essential requirement of Oxygen to a few such people in remote Sunderbans villages of Mathurapur II block.
WITH DEEP GRATITUDE WE EXTEND OUR THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO HAS ALREADY SHARED HANDS IN OUR INITIATIVES.
YET THE DEMANDS FOR THE OXYGEN AND OTHER MEDICAL SUPPORTS ARE STILL HIGH.
WE APPEAL TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS AND LIKE MINDED PEOPLE TO PLEASE JOIN OUR HANDS IN THIS VERY DIFFICULT ENDEAVOUR.
PLEASE SUPPORT US TO STAND BY THE MARGINALISED PEOPLE GETTING IMPACTED ACROSS CITIES AND VILLAGES HERE.
