Our mission continues!
After another quarter concluded, at Ekloos Institute, our team remain focused on strengthening our purpose, generating social impact and offering opportunities that reach more and more people, projects and social institutions. Based on the joint work of our entire team over the last few months, we are happy to share our results, that could only be achieved thanks to your sensitivity!

For us, our impact must go beyond the present and, for this reason, we believe it is essential to think about long-term changes. In recent months, the Ekloos Institute have started the Leadership Development Program, in Paraná state, in the southern region of Brazil. The Program lasts 3 months and includes the participation of 16 beneficiaries and 31 impacted so far. The objective is for these beneficiaries to develop a spirit of community leadership and enhance their social purpose, always highlighting the importance of collaborative work so that they can generate a positive impact in the future in their communities.

In addition, we also developed courses and initiatives aimed at the formation and development of more sustainable communities, such as the course "Pathways to the Sustainability of Impact Initiatives", divided into 4 weekly meetings during the month of August, accounting for 16 hours of classes and reaching 21 participants. With the content offered, participants were encouraged to think about solutions that were appropriate for their realities and environmentally and socially sustainable.

As one of the pillars of our work, we are proud to share the results of our Acceleration Programs! In the last quarter, we have completed the Co.Impacto Acceleration Program. For eight months, the Ekloos Institute had been working with seven organizations in the city of Rio de Janeiro, operating in the socio-cultural and socio-environmental areas, boosting their projects through mentoring from professionals specialized in strategic management, projects and innovation. Over this time, organizations were able to improve their speeches and present their final work to a panel of evaluators, increasing the chances of fundraising and investment.

Furthermore, we have also started the Instituto BrasilAgro Acceleration Program, in which, during the next six months, organizations in Mato Grosso, Goiás and Maranhão (in the central and northeast regions of the country) will receive mentoring and training offered by our team. It is important to highlight that these organizations are located in regions in the interior of the States, that do not receive support, investment and visibility, which makes our acceleration work even more necessary, so that they can achieve greater financial autonomy and enhance their social impact.

Besides the recurring projects that we support and develop, we are also approached by unexpected situations. In April 2024, a major environmental disaster occurred in Rio Grande do Sul, in the southern region of Brazil, affecting an average of 2.3 million people. There were days of incessant rain and flooding that destroyed much of the territory. Beyond data and statistics about the crisis, there are hundreds of lives lost and families affected. Imagine a frightening scenario, with pictures of completely flooded streets, destroyed houses covered in water and overcrowded shelters, which illustrated what became known as “The biggest environmental disaster in the history of the State”.

In this context, Ekloos Institute, joined its partners, including the impact business Água Camelo, joining efforts to help the population affected by the tragedy, with the delivery of hundreds of Água Camelo backpack kits, essential in purifying water floods, guaranteeing fundamental access to drinking water. These backpacks work as true portable filters, transforming untreated water into completely drinkable water.
As an example of our impact, Água Camelo was a social business accelerated by the Ekloos Institute in the past. Today, we are proud to work side by side, knowing that our work helped them get here and be able to also help other communities and regions in crises like the one in Rio Grande do Sul. In addition to offering humanitarian support, Água Camelo also contributes environmentally, with a significant reduction in pollution, as its water purification backpacks eliminate the need for the use and consequent disposal of plastic bottles.

Working with the Third Sector is always betting on changes, and results like this make us believe in a better world and keep working to expand our social impact, as well as the projects we support throughout Brazil. Here, we try to summarize some of these essential stories and initiatives.

We continue to look for much more and we count on your continued support.

Until next time!
