Update Ekloos 2020

By Andrea Gomides | Founder

Instituto Ekloos, by means of your donation, is supporting the development and innovation of social impact initiatives, enabling the professionalization of non-profit organizations through guidance to social leaders that will be able to offer high quality projects with a greater social impact.

During the last quarter, four acceleration programs were being executed, totalizing 47 supported organizations. Next, the three main highlights of this trimester:

- ACOPAMEC

Founded in 1990, ACOPAMEC operates in the districts of Mata Escura and Calabetão, in the northwest of Brazil in the state of Bahia. In more than 30 years, its main goal is to promote education and full protection to children, teenagers and young people (from 0 to 24 years old) that are living in social vulnerability, though activities during the shift opposite to their regular school hours and professional training. More than 30.000 beneficiaries were directly impacted.

Instituto Ekloos was responsible for the restructuration of ACOPAMEC’s managing model and the implementation of innovations to reestablish the connection between projects and its beneficiaries.

After the acceleration process, this organization was awarded with the Câmara de Comércio Brasil – Espanha Prize, held annually in Madrid, Spain.

- SEABRA

There are more than 35 million brazilians without access to the drinking water supply network and 20 million of then lives in rural areas/communities. SEABRA is a non-profit association which is operating in the rural sanitation field for 24 years developing a respectful work in brazilian northeast and amazon region communities. SEABRA’s service helps to offer better life conditions to children and young people so they can have a better future and an access to drinking water supplies.

Instituto Ekloos helped them to develop a work in three axes: Strengthening Community Associations, Organizational Structure and Mobilizing Operators. This work solved important issues for the better functioning of the organization and new opportunities for sustainability and fundraising.

- Connecting and training social managers

Instituto Ekloos held a series of events called Meetup Impacto, a meeting to train and form contact networks and partnerships between social Initiatives. In its 8th edition, the theme was To Transform Education. The event featured social leaders of organizations focus on education for children and teenagers: Stephanie Di Chiara, from Reconsidere (institution focused on social inclusion through audiovisual), Robson Melo from Estante Mágica (institution focused on social inclusion through reading) and Rafael Botelho from Instituto Ver e Viver (institution focused on provide a better quality of life through vision).

During the debate mediated by Andréa Gomides, Instituto Ekloos' founder, the speakers discussed issues related to education. Lastly, an integration activity was carried out to estimulate the creation of new networks for more than 70 leaders of social initiatives that were present. The last Meetup Impacto was a huge success! The next one will be on March, 25th.

We highlight those three activities, but you can check out others on our social media(Facebook - www.facebook.com/ekloos and Instagram - @institutoekloos).
