By MUNYANDAMUTSA Joseph | Founder of CECHE Foundation
Early this year in April, and for the first time since its creation, CECHE Foundation participated in the crowdfunding platform to raise some funding to help to provide inclusive services to both children with and without disabilities in the community. Our target was to support 45 children accessing Early Childhood Development (ECD) services. During the accelerator program, we were able to raise USD 2,385 from 19 individual donors. I thank you again for being our supporter.
Even if the fund raised was far from our target, this did not stop CECHE Foundation's commitment: in a very complex COVID-19 situation that has extremely delayed the process, activities have been carried out to prepare the setting to receive children in September in accordance with the government schools/ECDs calendar. so far, 40 chairs and 20 tables to be used by children have been procured from the local carpentry. the building has been painted to look child friendly but also to improve the hygiene and sanitation in the center.
In the next step, teachers will be recruited to start registering children and enrolling them according to their needs. some other materials such as play materials, toys, books, etc are still not available but the battle to mobilize more resources continues. I am hoping to send you some exciting news in my next report when the center will be fully operating with some nice pictures and videos from the children.
I counting again on your support to help us make a difference and create a better inclusive future.
With warm regards
