As part of our ongoing support following the stress management session,Nzeve brought together 19 parents of Deaf children and youth for a sports day aimed at strengthening peer support and promoting parental well-being. The activity provided an opportunity for parents to connect, build friendships and encourage one another in a relaxed environment.
Beyond recreation, the sports day strengthened the parent support groups by fostering relationships that parents can rely on for emotional support, shared learning and practical advice on raising Deaf children. As parents exchanged experiences and solutions to common challenges, they built confidence in their role as their children's first advocates and caregivers, reducing isolation and strengthening their ability to provide consistent support at home.
Strong and connected parents create stronger support systems for Deaf children and youth. By investing in parents' well-being and peer networks, Nzeve is helping to ensure that families are better equipped to nurture their children's communication, development and inclusion.
