Supporting APADES through volunteer engagement

By Megane GERARD | communications officer

As part of the partnership between LifeTime Projects and the Association for the Promotion of Literacy and Social Development (APADES) in Yaoundé, the project continued to focus on strengthening local capacities and supporting APADES in its educational and social initiatives.

This year, Cécile, a LifeTime Projects volunteer, supported APADES by participating in one of the workshops organized by the local structure with which we carry out the project. Her participation contributed to the activities led on the ground and strengthened the exchange of skills and experiences between volunteers and local partners.

Laura, who was also involved with the project as a LifeTime Projects civic service volunteer, supported APADES throughout her civic service contract. Her involvement contributed to the ongoing activities and to the development of the partnership with the local organization.

Although there were no major changes or new developments during this reporting period, the continued involvement of volunteers remains an important part of the partnership. By supporting APADES and participating in activities alongside the local team, LifeTime Projects volunteers contribute to strengthening local capacities while gaining a better understanding of the realities and challenges faced by partner organizations.

This ongoing collaboration reflects the mutual exchange of skills at the heart of the partnership between LifeTime Projects and APADES. With the support of GlobalGiving donors, the project can continue to provide long-term support to local organizations working to promote literacy, education and women’s empowerment in Yaoundé.
