Our Maternal Child Health Program is growing! A few months ago we welcomed Concepcion and Blanca to our Maternal Child Health Program. Both women are beadwork artisans and were both expecting their fist child. While they were pregnant, they were able to recieve prenatal care and attended monthly workshops where they recieved advice form other mothers and classes on nutrition and how to stay healthy while pregnant. Now, we are excited to introduce our tiniest beneficiaries, Caleb and Pablo.
Caleb was born on June 25th.
Pablo is a little younger than Caleb. He was born on July 6th.
Both babies were born strong and healthy.
Our Maternal Child Health program consists of 25 mothers. Through this program, the mothers and children receive healthcare assistance as well as monthly support groups during which they talk about ways to keep a child healthy, the importance of vaccinations as well as workshops on healthy family dynamics and family planning.
“It’s important that these mothers, especially young mothers, have emotional support as well as healthcare access to make sure that the next generation has a healthy head start and a better chance at a quality life” says Rebecca-- Pueblo a Pueblo’s Maternal and Child Health Program Coordinator.
We are thrilled Caleb and Pablo have officially joined the program and foresee great things from the new mothers. Your GlobalGiving support gives families like these support through the most vulnerable times of pregnancy and through early childhood. Thank You!
