We are thankful to our global giving donors, volunteers and friends for their contribution towards mrembo program. It’s through your support that we were able to start rolling up to primary schools apart from community centers. In May we conducted a phase one training of trainers on our new curriculum on reproductive health issues. The curriculum targets girls aged between 11-21 years old. It’s designed with soccer activities that carry different messages on girl’s reproductive health. Teenage pregnancies, abortion, relationship and sex, menstruation, child abuse are some of the topics covered. Five peer educators were taken through the new curriculum and fully equipped with more information on reproductive health Child Survival is one of the schools targeted this year in our program activities. It’s situated at Majengo slums in Nairobi which is an area characterized with high HIV infection rate, rape cases and prostitution. Our Peer educators carry out the program every week on Thursdays between 3pm -4pm. “I can now make wise decisions that will benefit me in life” .One of the girls in Child Survival primary school after Life Choices activity. It’s through your continuous support that will be able to reach out to more schools and many girls will receive information that will enable them make informed choices.
