Report on the Progress of Children with Disabilities at Noor society for Persons with Disabilities (Last Three Months of 2024)Introduction

Despite facing extremely difficult economic conditions, Noor Association for Persons with Disabilities has continued to provide essential rehabilitation services to children with disabilities over the past three months. The cessation of financial support led to the suspension of staff salaries, compelling our dedicated team to work on a voluntary basis. Despite these challenges, we remained committed to serving our community by offering vital services to children with cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, Cri-du-chat syndrome, hydrocephalus, Angelman syndrome, and other conditions. In total, we have been able to provide support to 45 children aged up to 9 years, ensuring they receive the necessary care and rehabilitation.

Services Provided

Over the last three months, Nour Association has provided the following services:

• Physical Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Special Education
• Cognitive and Learning Support

Progress Report on Children (Using Hypothetical Names) 1. Omar (Cerebral Palsy, Age 7)

Omar has shown significant progress in his motor skills. He can now stand with minimal support and has improved his hand-eye coordination. His physical therapy sessions have greatly contributed to enhancing his mobility and balance.

2. Lina (Down Syndrome, Age 6)

Lina has made remarkable improvements in her communication skills. Through speech therapy, she has developed a stronger vocabulary and is now able to form complete sentences. Her social interactions have also improved, and she is more engaged during group activities.

3. Ali (Autism, Age 5)

Ali has shown noticeable progress in his behavioral responses and communication. With the help of occupational therapy, he is now able to participate in structured activities and follow simple instructions. His ability to express emotions has also improved.

4. Aya (Hydrocephalus, Age 4)

Aya has benefited greatly from both physical and speech therapy. She has shown progress in her fine motor skills and is now able to hold objects with better grip. Her speech clarity has improved, allowing her to communicate more effectively with her family and peers.

5. Kareem (Cri-du-chat Syndrome, Age 3)

Kareem has made strides in his sensory processing and motor skills. Occupational therapy sessions have helped him respond better to sensory stimuli, and he can now engage in play activities without becoming overwhelmed.

6. Sara (Angelman Syndrome, Age 8)

Sara has shown improvements in her physical strength and balance. Through regular physical therapy sessions, she can now walk with support and participate in simple physical activities. Her communication skills have also improved, and she is more expressive through non-verbal cues.

7. Yousef (Learning Difficulties, Age 9)

Yousef has made significant progress in his reading and comprehension skills. Special education sessions have helped him improve his focus and retain information better. He can now recognize letters and numbers more accurately and is more confident in his learning abilities.

8. Mariam (Speech Delay, Age 5)

Mariam has benefited from speech and language therapy, showing great improvement in her pronunciation and sentence structure. She is now more confident in expressing her thoughts and emotions.

9. Rami (Physical Disability, Age 6)

Rami has shown improvements in his mobility. Physical therapy sessions have helped him strengthen his muscles, and he can now walk short distances with the help of a walker.

10. Hala (Down Syndrome, Age 4)

Hala has made noticeable progress in her cognitive and social skills. She is now able to identify colors, shapes, and animals, and she engages more actively in group activities.

Overall Impact

Despite the financial difficulties, the voluntary efforts of our staff have had a positive impact on the children under our care. The progress seen in their motor, cognitive, and social skills is a testament to the dedication of our team and the importance of our rehabilitation programs.

Nour Association for Persons with Disabilities remains committed to providing essential services to children with disabilities, even under challenging circumstances. The progress achieved over the past three months demonstrates the resilience and dedication of our staff and the importance of continued support from donors and partners. Hello every body < we will keep you posted with some of our childrens develompent plan during May-June 2924 and will all the difficult time that we are passing with . we try to help and  work with all the neede children as much as we can so they have a good working plan for five days a week with all the therapist  specially with physiotherapy and occupational therapy shedual > here you will find somr info about our children and what we do during this time with the following working plan with each medical case:

The child Muhammad: suffers from severe cerebral palsy affecting the lower and upper limbs. He suffers from balance problems and has high muscle tone. He takes two sessions a week.
Session objectives:
Muscle strengthening
Improving balance during love
Prevent complications
Long-term treatment goals:
Stability and balance during love
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
Improvement in muscle strength, especially the muscles of the upper limbs
Relieve muscle tension
Treatment methods used:
Balance exercises and movement exercises while sitting
Muscle strengthening exercises.
Walking on the para-bar

2. Child Joud: She suffers from severe muscle weakness as a result of genetic problems. She benefits from a physical therapy program with one session per week.
Session objectives:
Reducing muscle tone in the upper extremities
Increased muscle tone in the lower extremities.
Reducing the accumulation of secretions (phlegm) in the lungs to improve the breathing process
Long term goals:
Maintaining joint deformities
Improving the breathing process
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
No changes occur due to the severity of the condition (only prevention of complications)
Treatment methods used:
Joint compression exercises
Mobility exercise (moving joints).
Respiratory exercises and chest therapy

3. Bilsan: She suffers from severe mental developmental delay and benefits from a physical therapy program with two sessions per week.
Session objectives:
Improve and correct sitting posture
Strengthening the back and abdominal muscles
Strengthening the fine muscles of the hands
Long-term treatment goals:
Achieving a correct session pattern
Balance and stability while sitting
Changes that occurred within a month:
Better balance and strong back muscles
Treatment methods used:
Balance exercises and movement exercises while sitting
Muscle strengthening exercises.
Exercises to strengthen the fine muscles of the hands

4. Jinan: The child suffers from shortened tendons and weak muscles of the lower limbs as a result of premature birth in the sixth month. She benefits from the physical therapy program. She takes three physical therapy sessions weekly.
Session objectives:
Lengthening and strengthening the muscles of the lower limbs.
Practice walking, standing, and improving balance
Long-term treatment:
Ability to walk steadily and balance.
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
Increased muscle strength in the lower extremities, pelvic muscles, and torso
Improvement in muscle length and movement
Noticeable improvement in standing posture
Walking a few steps without support or assistance
Treatment methods used:
Muscle lengthening exercises
Exercises to strengthen the lower muscles, pelvic muscles and trunk
Exercises to improve balance
Standing and walking exercises

5. Child Raghad: She suffers from cerebral palsy, muscle laxity, and weak neck muscles.
Session objectives:
Strengthening the neck muscles and torso muscles.
Joint compression exercises to increase muscle tone and improve muscle strength
Long-term treatment goals:
Get head lift and control
Changes that occurred within a month:
Neck muscles and head control improve stomach and back sleeping positions
Treatment methods used:
Muscle strengthening and lengthening exercises
Exercises using a medicine ball
Stand on the ready stand

6. Child Judy: The child suffers from Down Syndrome and has a slight delay in motor development. She benefits from the physical therapy program at two sessions per week.
Session objectives:
Strengthening the muscles of the lower limbs and pelvic muscles
Improve balance and stability
Long-term treatment goals:
Walking steadily and balanced without the need for support
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
Walking more steps for a longer time and a noticeable improvement in balance
Treatment methods used:
Walking on the para-bar and walker
Balance exercises using a medicine ball

7. The child, Fatima, suffers from quadriplegic cerebral palsy. She benefits from the physical therapy program and receives two physical therapy sessions weekly.
Session objectives:
Strengthen muscles and relieve pain
Increase joint sensation and strengthen fine muscles of the upper extremities
Long-term treatment goals:
Raise your head and sit still
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
Significantly improved head lifting and sitting onset.
Improvement in trunk and neck muscle strength
Treatment methods used:
Exercises using a medicine ball to strengthen the neck and torso muscles
Standing on a stand

8. The child, Yazan, suffers from hydrocephalus as a result of premature birth. He benefits from the physical therapy program at two sessions per week.
Session objectives:
Strengthening the neck muscles.
Strengthening the trunk muscles.
Improve balance while sitting.
Long-term treatment goals:
Sitting without support and lying down.
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
Noticeable improvement in the strength of the neck and torso muscles
Reduce the tension to a good extent in the lower extremities
Treatment methods used:
Stretching and strengthening exercises (neck muscles to control head movement, torso muscles to improve sitting) using a medicine ball
Pressing and pulling exercises for the joints to strengthen muscles and sensation and relieve tension

9. Child Fatima: She suffers from increased tone and muscle weakness in the right extremities. She benefits from a physical therapy program of two sessions per week.
Session objectives:
Improve balance while sitting
Strengthening the back and abdominal muscles
Strengthening the pelvic muscles
Strengthening the fine muscles of the hands
Long-term treatment goals:
Standing and walking without support
Changes that occurred within 3 months:
Noticeable and good improvement in balance
Improvement in muscle strength, especially the lower muscles
Treatment methods used:
Balance exercises using a medicine ball
Muscle strengthening exercises.
Stand exercises
Walking on the walker

10. The little girl, Anaam: suffers from weakness in the abdominal muscles, weakness in the muscles of the lower limbs, and irregular balance, especially while walking quickly + a pulled tendon in the foot. She benefits from physical therapy at two sessions per week.
Session objectives:
Improve balance.
Strengthening the muscles of the lower limbs
Strengthening the abdominal, back and pelvic muscles
Long term goals:
Walk properly, with stability and balance
Changes that occurred during 3 months:
Significant improvement in the abdominal and pelvic muscles
