Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you for your continued partnership in advancing health education for children and families in Guatemala. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students, families, and educators throughout Santiago.
Over the past year, we have expanded both the reach and sustainability of our school-based health initiatives. Thanks to your support, our team has continued to provide health education programming in six schools throughout Santiago while also building local capacity to monitor and support child health.
Program Impact
This year, our health education initiative reached more than 1,500 students across six partner schools in Santiago. Through classroom instruction, interactive activities, and community engagement, students received education focused on:

As a result of these efforts, the program has now completed more than 1,000 growth assessments among participating students.
Why This Matters
Growth monitoring is a powerful tool for understanding child health and identifying potential concerns early. The collection of growth data allows our team and local partners to:
Most importantly, training local teachers creates a sustainable system that can continue year-round, ensuring that health monitoring remains an integral part of the school environment even when international volunteers are not on site.
Building Sustainable Change
Our long-term goal has always been to empower local communities rather than create dependence on outside resources. The successful transfer of growth assessment skills to local educators represents an important milestone in that journey.
Teachers are now equipped not only to support student learning in health education but also to contribute directly to the ongoing monitoring and promotion of student health.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the coming year, we plan to:
