Thanks to you and to everyone who has supported Village Improvement's goal of reducing carbon emissions through the increased use of high-efficiency cookstoves, we have been able to apply for a license to operate as a business in Liberia. The license was granted last month. We are now, and will continue to be, a registered non-profit but we are now able to have an enterprise component also. We will be able to import and sell stoves and then use the profit to fulfill our mission to build a stove assembly plant in Liberia employing Liberian workers.
We are continuing to test several different types of high-efficiency stoves and collect feedback from our “test kitchens” in the field.
We could use your help. Have you ever used a high-efficiency stove, perhaps for camping or as part of your emergency kit? We’d love to hear from you.
