Biochar making training took place on 2nd May 2025 at Kyakataba village in Bulyango Parish and Kitoba Subcounty. We trained 6 farmers in bio char making using gasifier stoves. Gasifier stove is characterized as a pyrolytic gasifier stove, producing a smokeless flame, providing heat for household cooking. In addition, the stove produces biochar for use in agriculture. The training transferred knowledge on stove use and production of biochar.
Objectives of training
Outcome of the training
6 women who are small holder farmers were training on making biochar using gasifier stoves.
Women were trained how to use biochar in gardens and the benefits of applying biochar on their plants.
Gasifier stove is a solution provider for small holder famers, seeking a biochar production unit for agricultural use of biochar on their own farm. The qualities of biochar can reduce fertilizer use and increase crop-yields. Both of these factors can act as income generators for local farmers. The community benefits from more sustainable farming practices.
