Rosemary's Experience with the Gasifier Cookstove

By Nolbert Muhumuza | Founder | Giving Hope Foundation

Despite receiving only one donation so far for this project, our outreach team has been visiting Rosemary, a user of the gasifier cookstove, to see how it has impacted her daily life.

During our visit, we found Rosemary using the gasifier cookstove to prepare dinner. She told our team how she efficiently combines the gasifier cookstove with a charcoal stove. She demonstrated how she puts the hot charcoal on the charcoal stove is she needs to continue cooking or saves the charcoal produced by the gasifier for future use.

Rosemary expressed her gratitude for the gasifier cookstove, stating that she loves it. She highlighted several key benefits including how the stove cooks food faster and uses much less firewood than the traditional 3-stone stove.

However, she also mentioned that she doesn't use the gasifier cookstove daily. Sometimes she lacks the necessary materials like corn cobs or chopped wood, which are required for the stove to function properly. Rosemary's experience not only underscores the benefits of the gasifier cookstove but also highlights the need for consistent access to suitable fuel materials to maximize the stove's usage.

We remain hopeful for more donations to expand this positive impact to more poor families in Hoima district.
