Project Report | Dec 2, 2014
First Report and Limited-time Campaign

By Kyle Upchurch | Executive Director

Dear supporters,

Every once in a while, you will be getting what's called a project report from the team here at Hopeful Africa. You have made a contribution to this project and as such you should be updated on its progress. We're incredibly grateful for your gift and will do whatever we can to bring you the stories of your impact. Whether it's the number of books we provide, the number of students we sponsor, or the number of teachers being added because of your gracious support, we want to keep you in the loop. So be on the lookout for these reports!

I'm going to start with the exciting campaign news, since it's time-sensitive. Further down, I will give a project update and some info on how to stay connected. Hopeful Africa is lucky enough to be participating in a #GivingTuesday matching campaign through GlobalGiving. Microsoft YouthSpark is matching donations to this project on Tuesday the second of December. That's 100% matching. That's a really good opportunity for Hopeful Africa and for its partner schools. Tuesday will almost definitely be the best day yet for this organization and we want you to be a part of it. If you're considering supporting Hopeful Africa again this holiday season, this year, or ever, 12/2/2014 is the best day to do so; your impact will be doubled. Please consider supporting this project again by going to this link on 12/2: http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/improve-the-education-of-2000-students-in-kenya/

Now, the update: Over the last few months, Hopeful Africa has disbursed $1,980 to its partner schools in Kenya, helping the schools to pay for 10 additional teachers over that time. In addition, Hopeful Africa is maintaining student sponsorship of 20 young boys and girls attending secondary school in Kenya. Most of that money was raised previous to this GlobalGiving project, but with nearly $4,000 raised thus far, the funds from this project will be making a huge impact very soon. Hopeful Africa will continue sending funds every month. If you want to see where exactly the partner schools are, head on over to the where we work page of hopefulafrica.org. It's not totally complete, but it has some good information on Hopeful Africa's partners.

At www.hopefulafrica.org/blog, volunteers post updates about the organization, including letters from students your donations help sponsor. Soon, volunteers on the Hope Team will begin to write about the teachers being hired due to Hopeful Africa's support. The best way to keep in the loop is to like Hopeful Africa on Facebook and follow the organization on Twitter. If you want to get monthly emails, please subscribe to the mailing list. However you want to stay connected, know that progress on Hopeful Africa's three programs is continuous and successful.

Thank you!
