After relief foods, Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. or CJFI has provided the children affected by the fire that razed their homes and properties, opportunity to play, enjoy and savor overflowing supply of foods. First, was the National Children’s Day. Around 500 fire victim kids had joined this annual festive for children held in Davao City. The celebration is held annually in Davao City where kids from all walks of life, regardless of religion, status, and tribe are given all the excitement and joy that they long in their lives. The idea behind this annual celebration is to allow particularly those destitute children to have a chance in their lifetime to join a holistic enjoyment in their lives. It is a one day celebration where kids can indulge themselves in various fun games, riding in different rides, and treating them with different and overflowing supply of foods. The whole set up of the venue is like a Disneyland where the kids can find the ride he wants to. For the fire victim kids, it was not just an enjoyment but it was also a stress debriefing that released their traumas. Such enjoyment they had would always stay in their memories that they would not forget in their lives.
Another activity held exclusively for kids was Children’s Fun and Talent Day. It allowed the kids to show their talent in dancing and even singing, playing in different games such as parlor games, savor plenty of foods and pamper themselves in beach bathing. About a thousand of kids had participated the gathering from various children caring institutions in Davao City. The activity was actually on its 3rd year hold every September conceptualized for child caring institutions in Davao City. So it has become an annual celebration for kids spearheaded by CJFI. More than two hundred kids from the fire victims were especially invited to join the fun. The kids had enjoyed a full daylight of fun and excitement. So much cheers all we saw in their faces as they pampered themselves in the beach and games.
To all the Donors and Global Giving family, thank you for supporting this cause and being one in this advocacy. There are millions of destitute children in the Philippines who needs the appropriate attention and care so that when they grow up they would become strong pillar in nation building.
