Dear Friends,
As you are aware, IIMPACT not only empowers our girls, but makes a difference to the mindset of their parents and community. We help break down age old negative practices like dowry, child marriage and inferior treatment of females.
In this Quarterly report , we have included the stories of how we have made a difference.
IIMPACT started in 2003 with a vision of establishing 2000 Learning Centres and impacting the lives of 60,000 girls . We can say with pride that we will be achieving the same in the coming month when we add another 200 learning centres. With our combined efforts we have reached out to girls in far flung remote areas, enrolled them in our learning centers , provided quality primary education , helped mainstream them in senior schools and have phased out over 500 learning centres . Happy to share with you that most of our girls are continuing their further studies, many of them are working and are financially independent.
The report also features the passionate story of two young cyclists from Mumbai, who want to bring about a change in society in a unique way by riding bicycles made of bamboo, from Kanyakumari in the South to Khardung La in the North, creating awareness of the importance of girl child education during the course of their journey. The duo aspires to raise and donate a certain amount to IIMPACT with an aim to sponsor the education of 1500 girls. This campaign is backed by the Godrej group. We thank the Godrej group for partnering with IIMPACT .
Attached is our Quarterly Update.
