Since September 2017, the IGGI team has engaged children, staff, and parents through puppet shows and expressive dance at various community centers, elementary schools, Head Start pre-schools and at various carnival and community events on St. Thomas, St.Croix and St. John. IGGI coloring books were distributed to children at the Crucian Festival in January … and iggi paraded down Main Street during St. Thomas Carnival’s Children’s Parade distributing coloring and story books along the parade route!
To date, the IGGI team has presented over 20 times, reaching 250+ children and adults. National Partners like FEMA and the American Red Cross have also taken notice, and conversations are taking place to explore expanding IGGI beyond the USVI.
IGGI is currently re-evaluating its action plan for the 2018-2019 school year. Stay tuned, and thank you for your support!
