The situation in Gaza is worsening by the day. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), nearly 48,000 people have fled their homes in just the past few days, adding to more than 190,000 who have already been displaced since mid-August. Many of these families are led by women and elderly relatives, walking for hours in the heat, often barefoot, carrying exhausted or injured children.
Hospitals and clinics are overwhelmed. Gaza’s blood banks have already run out of critical supplies, even though hundreds of units are needed every day to keep patients alive. Some hospitals, damaged by nearby shelling, are now trying to care for the wounded while also sheltering displaced families.
Humanitarian workers are doing everything possible — offering water, medical care, dignity kits, and psychosocial support. But with borders closed, fuel running out, and insecurity blocking convoys, even the most urgent aid is delayed.
At IBC, we are watching this tragedy unfold with heavy hearts. Right now, our team is focused on gathering reliable information and connecting with trusted partners in Gaza. We are committed to responding thoughtfully and providing assistance where it is most needed.
Thank you for staying with us during these difficult times. Your solidarity gives us the strength to prepare and act for families who have lost everything.
