Gerardo's testimony

By Geraldo Vargas Garcia | IAPE participant (English teacher)

My name is Gerardo, I am from Puebla. I teach English at Escuela Primaria "Rafael Ramírez Castañeda".  I have around three hundred students from third to sixth grade. Since the first day that I came back from the IAPE course I started to use the Rassias Method® and I have seen such great results with my students. I have always tried to be a dynamic teacher and now with the techniques that I learned during the course I realize that the method fits very well with my pedagogy and my personality.

Before the course I did not have results in my students as I can see nowadays and the most difficult thing for me was to make them speak.  Since I started drilling with them they have been amazingly improving their speaking skills and I have found kids who are very good at English, but I did not know before because they were shy. They have a lot more confidence in themselves and also for me as a teacher it is easier to give class. I have better control of the group because now everybody is involved in the class.  The method is really helping me. I cannot find an expression to say, but that I am enjoying this part of my career very much.

Greetings from Puebla.
