In remote Yushu, Qinghai, over 6,000 boarding students lack basic hygiene supplies like toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and towels. This project will offer 500 hygiene kits to rural schools, each packed with toiletries enough for one student's semester. We will also host online health lessons about handwashing, skincare, nutrition and exercise to help kids build lifelong healthy habits. Yushu sits above 4,200 meters with frigid highland weather and tough terrain that hinders transport. Boarding students here lack essential hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste and towels. Despite schools' best efforts, they cannot supply these goods to every child. Poor personal hygiene speeds the spread of oral, skin and stomach ailments, which disrupt children's appetite, sleep and classroom focus.
This project supports Yushu's boarding students via supply donations plus health education: Donate 500 toiletry kits with semester supplies: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, soap dishes, shampoo, body wash and lotion. The project will provide interactive health education courses to rural schools deliver online interactive by trained volunteers. Lessons cover handwashing, oral care, high-altitude skincare, balanced nutrition and regular exercise to build lasting hygiene awareness.
We sent 500 toiletry kits to two rural Yushu schools, benefiting over 500 boarding students and fostering their daily hygiene routines, with health education covering 6,000 kids. In 12 months, visible progress will appear: better oral health, regular personal hygiene, and more confident, communicative students eager to learn.
