NTDS volunteers have provided help for Baton Rouge, LA residents by replacing basic essentials needed to recover from the massive storm damage from Hurricane Isaac. Volunteers on the front line from NTDS were one of the first to respond to the devastating aftermath and are being updated with information from city and state officials. Volunteers are being set up in some of the worst struck neighborhoods providing basic cleaning supplies, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mini first aid kits, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, paper towels, gloves, and cases of water. To date, NTDS has handed out 748 clean-up kits (brooms, mops, cleaning chemicals, and other essential supplies), hundreds of gallons of water, hand sanitizer, paper towels and dozens of other items to assist Louisiana residents. Baton Rouge resident Lana Bold says that some of the most scarce items in the area is bleach and water. She says that she was amazed to see NTDS rolling into her town all the way from Tennessee to help them. "I saw the truck setting up at the park and thought, 'Bless you, bless you!'" NTDS has dispersed aid since August 25th and will be gathering more donations and supplies to bring down and help in the recovery efforts. Thank you!
