More than a year has passed from the date Hurricane Ida hit Southeast Louisiana, but many of our neighbors are still feeling the effects of this devastating storm. We continue increased levels of service in the hardest-hit areas of Lower Jefferson, Lafourche, and Terrebonne Parishes in the Bayou, and the River Parishes of St. Charles and St. John. Many of our partner agencies in these locations remain closed or are operating at reduced capacity due to hurricane damage to their facilities. We are focused on filling those gaps in food access and assisting our partners with their infrastructure needs to ensure they can serve their communities.
We are grateful to have made it through the 2022 hurricane season without a major event impacting our South Louisiana service area, but remain prepared to serve our neighbors in the event of a natural disaster.
