On June 1st, 2018, the United States will enter a new hurricane season. Even after a whole year, there are families still coping with the effects of Hurricane Harvey. The Food Bank RGV is still helping sister food banks in the affected areas of Houston, Victoria, Beaumont and Corpus Christi even though the amount is less since the first days after Harvey made landfall.
With your help, we were able to send over 20 truckloads of relief and helped coordinate well over 2 million pounds of water, food and produce to communities most in need. Tens of thousands of residents and evacuees were fed with your help!
We could not have done this without the generousity of GlobalGiving, it's corporate partners and individual members who are always eager to help.
As we enter hurricane season 2018 (one expected to be very active), we will prepare for it while hoping struggling families are spared another destructive setback.
