Hurricane Florence is has caused life-threatening storm surge, powerfully damaging winds and catastrophic flooding across the southeastern coast of the US. With over 1 million people evacuated and over 3 million at risk of losing power, widespread fuel shortages are being reported. This project will support FRF's response teams to source, transport, and distribute free fuel to those who need it most. Help us help the Carolinas!
Hurricane Florence has stalled over the eastern coast of the US and is currently wreaking havoc on the the Carolinas. As we witnessed with Hurricane Maria, fuel is a crucial resource in times of crisis. In the days and weeks to come, prices across the region will continue to rise as supply dwindles, and more people will be in desperate need of fuel.
FRF has responders on the ground working around the clock to transport and distribute free fuel to those who need it most. This project will support our efforts to bring fuel to survivors so they can charge phones to locate family, drive cars to buy supplies, run generators and power home medical devices. As long as we have the resources and a need exists, FRF will provide fuel to civilians, first responders, hospitals, nursing homes -- anyone and everyone adversely impacted by this disaster.
FRF fills the fuel supply gap in the immediate aftermath of a disaster when urgent humanitarian activities occur. We help civilians, first responders, and critical infrastructure manage their fuel needs until the fuel supply chain is back up and running. Fuel saves lives - help us work to prevent the catastrophic consequences of fuel shortages that we've seen in other disasters.
