Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to distribute comprehensive relief baskets to orphaned and vulnerable families living in several displacement camps across villages near Aleppo in northern Syria.
Many of these families are living through difficult economic and humanitarian conditions. Widows caring for children, orphaned families, and households with little or no stable income often struggle to provide enough food and basic household supplies for their daily needs.
To help ease this burden, our team prepared and distributed relief baskets containing a wide variety of essential food and household items. The baskets included sugar, rice, bulgur, lentils, chickpeas, canned beans, tuna, apricot jam, olives, pasta, chocolate, halva, sunflower oil, olive oil, za’atar, tea, soap, tissues, and many other basic necessities.
The purpose of these baskets is not only to provide food for a few days, but also to give families a broader range of essential items that can help them manage their households with greater stability and dignity.
For a widow raising children alone or a family caring for orphans, receiving a basket filled with staple foods and household essentials can significantly reduce daily pressure. It means having rice and bulgur to prepare meals, oil for cooking, tea and sugar for the household, and hygiene items that families may otherwise be forced to go without.
The variety of items also allows families to prepare different meals for their children and gives them some flexibility in meeting their needs. For children living through displacement and hardship, even simple items such as chocolate or halva can bring a moment of happiness and normalcy.
These relief baskets were distributed directly to families living in scattered camps and villages across the northern Aleppo countryside, with priority given to orphaned children, widows, and households facing severe financial hardship.
Your support makes this assistance possible. Every basket represents more than food and supplies—it represents security, dignity, compassion, and reassurance for a family trying to rebuild daily life under difficult circumstances.
On behalf of all the orphaned children and vulnerable families reached through this distribution, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every donor who contributed to this project.
Together, we are helping fill empty kitchens, ease the burden on caregivers, and bring comfort and hope to vulnerable families across northern Syria.
