Coaching and mentoring skills require deep experiential knowledge of people processes. A successful mentor needs to understand Why people feel what they feel, what motivates them and how this results in individual behaviour. These are key to understand how innate talents can be manifested. It has been established that student development is directly related to teacher development. For a sustainable change, teachers need to be intrinsically motivated to be able to help students discover themselves.
In India, teaching profession gets the last priority and this has severely compounded the existing problems with education. Aashwasan’s humane education offers a perfect solution to this dilemma. The humane aspect of the education, takes the teacher into account, brings out their experience which is unique to them, empowers them to introspect and continuously grow and evolve as individuals. As they aspire to be better human beings every day, they inspire their students to do the same. As they contribute to the lives of their students, the students learn to give their best to their environment and those around them. Teachers can acquire essential life skills- counselling, coaching and mentoring skills. They are enabled with introspection tools that allows them to become healthy observers to them selves to learn and grow.
Aashwasan thanks its donors for contributing the initial funds for us to begin approaching schools in Bengaluru’s urban space and share about humane education program. Due to the holiday and examination season, the schools are not receptive at the moment and have requested the Aashwasan team to contact them again in Jan.
We look forward to your continued contribution and support.
