Have you ever thought about the purpose of education? Is it to impart learning or make individuals more humane? Has education succeeded in achieving these objectives and if so to what extent? Why are highly educated individuals more rigid in their way of thinking? Why does education dampen creativity? There seems to be an inverse relationship between the duration of education and creativity. Should learning be joyful or should it be rote? Is knowing content more important? If this is so, then it seems pointless since once can find content whenever one wants to. Information is available in plenty , but the problems seems to be one of knowing where to look.
Is education independent of the learner? Can this exist without the subject? If it does then does it not mechanize the human brain? Should history be taught the same way as Mathematics? Should the approach change based on the subject? Should it change based on the particular student or based on the particular teacher? Does standardization of curriculum or text books achieve the ultimate objective of learning or does it make education an assembly line activity?
Can education instill compassion? Can education broaden an individual's outlook? Can it make them all encompassing? Can it break their barriers? Can doctors or engineers accept their limitations and be open to other disciplines? Can the response to a crisis be more openness rather than more rigidity? Our unique Humane education movement addresses many of these significant questions and enables schools, colleges, institutions and organizations to implement education in the most humane way possible.
Humane Education creates a space where the student, teacher, parent interact to create a joyful experience for all. Humane education focuses on the experience of growth. It creates a path of experience which enables individuals to learn, teach, facilitate, acquire and implement knowledge in their own unique way.
