From January 1 to August 27, 2021, Children of the Night Tutored 2,746 tutoring hours to 61 sex trafficked or high risk students to 7 programs in 5 countries including Ecuador, India, Kenya, Tanzania, and Nepal.
There were 44 ESL Students and 17 Math Students.
47 were female
14 were male
57 were under the age of 18
4 were 20 – 26 years of age and mostly represented staff
The ripples of our global tutoring program are so very exciting. In Ecuador, a 17-year-old boy has learned enough English his mother, a single parent, was able to obtain employment as a housekeeper for an American family. Each week the mother and son go to the home and the son can help translate English for the mother to complete her job.
In Tanzania, our girls are from 10 to 18 years of age, and they are always so eager to learn and ask lots of questions. Last week one of the girls had to repeat an assessment test she had failed. She scored 100% on the retest and you could hear the screams of job when she learned her score.
In one year, our girls in Tanzania move from no English to 7th or 8th grade English. They are always on time and have their supplies ready.
