The Leadership Accelerator Programme (LAP) empowers high-potential young African women with the leadership skills, confidence, networks, and real-world exposure they need to step boldly into leadership roles and drive inclusive change within their organisations and communities. Through a structured blend of leadership training, mentorship, peer learning, and experiential sessions, LAP equips participants not just to lead, but to lead with impact.
Women make up 50% of Africa's population, yet hold less than one-third of senior leadership roles across corporate, public, and civic sectors. Many face systemic barriers, including limited access to leadership development, weak mentorship and sponsorship networks, workplace bias, and low exposure to strong role models. As a result, capable women often remain stuck in mid-level positions or leave leadership pathways altogether, leading to lost talent and weaker institutions.
LAP is a six-month hybrid programme closing the women's leadership gap in Africa. Each cohort of 5,000 high-potential young women participates in leadership workshops, one-on-one mentorship, peer learning, and a capstone project addressing real workplace or community challenges. Participants gain practical skills, confidence, and strong networks that accelerate their transition into leadership roles, strengthening women and advancing inclusive leadership across organisations and communities.
By 2030, the Leadership Accelerator Programme will: Increase the number of women in leadership and decision-making roles across Africa by 10% Strengthen organisations and institutions through more inclusive and effective leadership Create a powerful alumni network of women leaders mentoring the next generation Shift workplace cultures by normalising women's leadership and influence Contribute to broader gender equity, economic growth, and social development outcomes
