The Leadership Accelerator Programme (LAP) was designed to address the persistent under-representation of African women in leadership across the corporate, public, and development sectors. Through a unique blend of learning, mentorship, and practical application, the programme equips women with the skills, confidence, and networks needed to advance their careers and lead change in their communities and beyond.
The launch of the 2026 cohort received a positive response, attracting over 5,000 applications from 48 African countries and 12 countries outside Africa. Following a rigorous selection process, successful participants have been onboarded onto the LEAP Africa Learning Management System (LMS), where they have commenced the virtual learning phase of the programme.
As the journey progresses, participants will convene in Kenya for an intensive boot camp focused on leadership development, collaboration, and innovation. They will also develop capstone projects to apply their learning to real-world challenges before transitioning into a mentorship phase, where they will be matched with experienced professionals to support their personal and professional growth.
With continued support from you, the programme remains committed to empowering more African women to lead boldly, create impact, and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s development.
Thank you.
