The under-representation of women in leadership roles across various sectors, including politics, remains a significant challenge in Africa. To tackle this issue, LEAP Africa developed the Leadership Accelerator Programme (LAP) for young women across the continent. In the first half of the year, we launched the 2024 edition of LAP, training over 2,000 young women from 48 African countries through virtual sessions on the LEAP Africa Learning Management System (LMS).

In July, we moved to the second phase of the programme, the physical boot camp. We welcomed over 40 remarkable women from Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Uganda, Ghana, Botswana, Malawi, Rwanda, and Angola to Lagos, Nigeria. These exceptional female leaders are now participating in immersive training, mentorship, and networking opportunities. This intensive bootcamp aims to equip them with the skills and connections needed to become transformative and innovative leaders in their countries.

After the boot camp, participants will develop capstone projects to apply their learnings practically. They will then embark on a mentorship journey, paired with mentors in their areas of interest to guide their growth. This mentorship is designed to support their ongoing development and help them translate their training into impactful leadership in their communities.

Your unwavering support allows us to empower more African women with the skills and tools necessary for Africa's advancement. Together, we can drive positive change and create meaningful leadership opportunities across the continent.

Thank you.
