Join Us to Raise Ethical Leaders in Africa

By Bernard Ibelih | Communications Programmes Coordinator

Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability, Professionalism (LEAP) Africa is a youth-focused leadership development non-profit organization established in 2002 with its headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, and Akwa Ibom and Abuja offices.

With footprints in over 26 states in Nigeria and active programming in eight (8) African countries, LEAP is raising leaders to transform Africa through interventions for youth. We are bridging the gaps in leadership, education, employability, entrepreneurship and enhancing youth agency for civic participation to demand good governance and contribute to social development and peacebuilding.

Why The Leadership Institute?

Young people in Africa face significant barriers which limit their successful transitions in 5 key areas - Education, Employment,  Healthcare, Social Mobility, and Active Citizenship.

The interconnectedness of these transition challenges requires an enabling environment tailored to provide holistic and evidence-based solutions.

• To bridge the existing learning gaps between young people and their enablers.

• Leverage digital disruption in learning to equip and scale youth leadership development interventions to drive Africa’s growth development.

The Leadership Institute will launch in October 2021 with four distinct interventions:

Virtual African Teachers  Training Institute (VATTI)

A one-year blended training for secondary school teachers and administrators with a key focus on improving educational outcomes for students.

The African Leadership  Immersion Programme (ALIP)

A 4-month blended programme where youth and CSO leaders will be equipped to catalyze high impact initiatives aligned with the SDGs.  The programme will adopt a funnel approach in which participants will be selected, funded and given more intentional hand-holding for implementing their impact projects.

Social Innovators

Programme (SIPA)

One year fellowship empowers young African changemakers (18- 35 years) to deliver high impact and lead sustainable social enterprises.

Leadership Programme  for Nonprofit (LPN)

Virtual programme to  empower youth in the  leadership development  space, with skills and  support to effectively  cascade leadership & life  skill modules to youth in  their community

BY 2030 the LEAP Institute is projected to impact 10 million African youth with critical leadership and innovation skills to drive the actualisation of the sustainable development goals in Africa.

Thank you.
