Quarterly Educational Support Report – September 2026

At Iraqi Children’s Hope Organization (ICHOPE), we believe education is one of the strongest paths toward breaking the cycle of poverty and building a better future.

During this quarter, our “Give the Gift of Knowledge” program continued providing academic support to orphaned and vulnerable students, while also preparing children for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.

A Year of Strong Results

We are proud to report that approximately 96% of the 536 students in our educational program successfully passed their grade level this year.

For children facing poverty, loss of a parent, and limited access to educational resources, this achievement is especially meaningful. It demonstrates what students can accomplish when they receive consistent tutoring, encouragement, and someone who believes in their potential.

Tutoring Continues During the Summer

Our educational support continued during the school break. Teachers provided tutoring for students preparing to retake examinations in subjects they had struggled with, giving them another opportunity to successfully advance to the next grade.

Additional tutoring focused on children experiencing difficulties with Arabic reading and writing, helping them strengthen essential literacy skills and build greater confidence in the classroom.

Behind the Numbers: Two Student Stories

Ali struggled with Arabic reading and was often hesitant to participate in class. Through regular tutoring and individual attention, his reading gradually improved. Today, he reads with greater confidence and participates more actively in school. His progress has changed not only his academic ability, but also how he sees himself as a student.

Zahra struggled in several subjects and needed to prepare for retake examinations. With focused tutoring, additional exercises, and encouragement from her teacher, she improved her understanding and developed better study habits. Most importantly, she began believing that she could succeed.

A Mother’s Happiness

One mother shared what the program meant to her family:

“I cannot describe how happy I am to see my child doing well in school. Before, I worried because I could not afford the additional tutoring he needed. Now he comes home proud of his grades and excited about what he learned. Seeing him succeed gives me hope for his future.”

More Than 600 Students Ready for School

With the new school year beginning soon in Iraq, ICHOPE has provided more than 600 students with school uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and essential school accessories.

For families facing severe financial hardship, these basic school necessities can be difficult to afford. For a child, receiving them means beginning school prepared, confident, and with dignity.

Looking Ahead

As the 2026–2027 school year begins, ICHOPE will continue monitoring students’ progress, providing tutoring in core subjects, strengthening reading and writing skills, and supporting students who are at risk of falling behind.

Our goal is not simply to help children pass exams. It is to help them remain in school, believe in themselves, and recognize that poverty and difficult circumstances do not have to determine their future.

The 96% academic success rate, continued tutoring, and preparation of more than 600 students for the new school year are possible because of the generosity of our donors and supporters.
