A teenage mother can face stigma not only from the wider community but sometimes within her own family. When communication breaks down, young mothers may struggle to ask for help with menstrual health, parenting, education, or other personal challenges.
Through Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is working to strengthen the relationship between teenage mothers, their families, and their communities.
We engage parents and guardians in conversations designed to encourage more supportive communication. Families are encouraged to listen to teenage mothers, discuss reproductive health openly, and provide constructive guidance rather than allowing shame to become another barrier in their lives.
This family engagement complements our direct support. We provide menstrual materials, mentorship, and hygiene resources such as water cans and handwashing detergents. These interventions help address both practical needs and the social barriers surrounding teenage motherhood.
Mentorship sessions also provide young mothers with opportunities to learn about menstrual health, sexual and reproductive health, parenting, self-confidence, education, and skills development.
Our goal is to expand these interventions to more vulnerable communities where teenage mothers may have limited access to structured support.
Donors can help us build stronger support systems around young mothers.
A contribution can help provide essential menstrual materials, facilitate mentorship, strengthen hygiene support, and expand community and parent engagement.
When families communicate with understanding, young mothers have a stronger foundation from which to rebuild their lives. Through Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers, we are working toward communities where early motherhood does not permanently close the door to education, skills, dignity, and opportunity.
