Teenage motherhood can bring challenges that extend far beyond pregnancy and childbirth. Many young mothers in vulnerable communities face poverty, stigma, interrupted education, limited access to menstrual materials, and a lack of supportive guidance. For teenage mothers who have returned to school or are pursuing vocational skills, managing menstruation with dignity can remain a significant challenge.
Through Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is working to provide practical and emotional support to young mothers as they rebuild their lives. We provide menstrual materials, mentorship, and education to help teenage mothers better understand menstrual health and develop confidence in managing their wellbeing.
We also support hygiene by providing water cans and handwashing detergents where resources are limited. These interventions help young mothers create healthier environments for themselves and their children.
Our mentorship goes beyond menstrual health. It provides opportunities for teenage mothers to discuss education, parenting, self-confidence, sexual and reproductive health, relationships, and future livelihoods.
We also engage parents and guardians to improve communication with teenage mothers and reduce stigma. Instead of being isolated because of early motherhood, young mothers need families that listen, guide, and encourage them to pursue education and skills development.
