For an abandoned teenage mother, one of the greatest challenges can be the feeling that she has nowhere to turn. Rejection and stigma can isolate her from family, education, employment opportunities, and community support. The program seeks to change that experience by creating a supportive connection between vulnerable young mothers and the communities around them.
F SSIBU Mission Foundation reaches out to abandoned teenage mothers through community visits, mentorship, psychosocial support, skills development, family engagement, and continued follow-up. These activities provide opportunities for young mothers to be listened to, encouraged, and connected with practical support.
We work to address some of the circumstances that can deepen vulnerability. Education and skills development can provide pathways toward greater independence, while mentorship can help young mothers make informed decisions about their futures. Community engagement also encourages greater understanding of the challenges teenage mothers face and the importance of supporting them rather than isolating them.
This initiative extends this care to their children, recognizing that the wellbeing of a young mother and her child are closely connected.
Donor funding is central to sustaining this work. It helps finance outreach, mentorship sessions, training opportunities, educational support, child-related assistance, and follow-up with vulnerable families.
