Teenage motherhood should not permanently close the door to education, skills, or personal development. Yet for young mothers facing abandonment and poverty, returning to learning can seem almost impossible when they are simultaneously responsible for caring for a child.
Through this program, F SSIBU Mission Foundation works to help vulnerable teenage mothers reconnect with opportunities that can strengthen their futures. We engage young mothers through mentorship, community outreach, psychosocial support, skills training, and education-related assistance according to their circumstances.
Our approach recognizes that every young mother has different needs. Some may need encouragement to return to education. Others may benefit from vocational training or practical livelihood skills. Some require emotional support and consistent mentorship before they can confidently take their next step. By maintaining contact through community engagement and follow-up, we seek to understand these needs and connect young mothers with appropriate opportunities.
The wellbeing of their children remains part of this work. Supporting the mother while considering the needs of her child can help create a more stable environment for both.
Donor funding provides the resources that allow these interventions to reach young women who might otherwise remain isolated. Contributions support training, mentorship, educational materials, outreach, follow-up, and practical assistance.
