Becoming a teenage mother can suddenly change a young girl’s path. When abandonment follows, the challenges can become even greater. Without family support, financial resources, education, or employable skills, a young mother may struggle to provide for herself and her child while trying to rebuild her future.
This program responds by creating pathways from vulnerability toward opportunity. F SSIBU Mission Foundation engages abandoned teenage mothers through mentorship, community outreach, home visits, psychosocial support, skills development, and education-focused interventions. The purpose is to help young mothers identify possibilities beyond their current circumstances and develop practical capabilities that can strengthen their independence.
Skills development can provide an important foundation. Depending on available opportunities and individual circumstances, young mothers can be supported to pursue vocational skills, entrepreneurship, computer skills, tailoring, hairdressing, modern farming, and other livelihood-oriented areas. These opportunities can help them develop abilities that may contribute to future income generation.
We also encourage continued education and responsible parenting while connecting young mothers with information and support related to their wellbeing and that of their children.
Donor funding makes these opportunities possible. Contributions help provide training, mentorship, learning materials, outreach, and follow-up support.
Through this program, donor generosity is helping transform abandonment into a starting point for rebuilding. Each investment gives a young mother an opportunity to acquire skills, strengthen confidence, care for her child, and work toward a future shaped by possibility rather than rejection.
