Every young mother deserves an opportunity to rebuild her life, and every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy and protected. F SSIBU Mission Foundation – Uganda is bringing these two priorities together through a comprehensive program that supports teenage mothers while improving the wellbeing of their children.
Our teenage mothers are receiving practical vocational training in areas including tailoring, electrical engineering, hair waving and modern farming. These skills are more than classroom lessons; they are pathways toward independence. By gaining practical abilities that can generate income, young mothers can begin creating livelihoods, supporting their households and reducing dependence on others.
The program also prioritizes sexual and reproductive health education. Teenage mothers receive information and guidance designed to help them understand reproductive health and prevent repeat pregnancies. Through continued education, they are encouraged to make informed and responsible decisions that protect their health and future opportunities.
At the same time, we recognize that empowering a mother must go hand in hand with protecting her child. Vulnerable children are receiving milk powder and free medicine to support their nutrition and health. For mothers facing financial hardship, this assistance can make an important difference in ensuring that their children receive basic care.
Monthly mentorship provides another layer of support. Young mothers have opportunities to receive encouragement, discuss challenges, develop life skills and learn how to set realistic personal and economic goals. Regular engagement helps ensure that they are not left to navigate difficult circumstances alone.
Donor support makes this holistic approach possible. Contributions help provide vocational learning opportunities, reproductive health education, child nutrition and medical assistance, as well as regular mentorship.
By supporting this initiative, donors are not simply helping individual mothers. They are helping strengthen families, protect vulnerable children, prevent repeated teenage pregnancies and build communities where young women have the skills, confidence and opportunity to create better futures.
