At F SSIBU Mission Foundation – Uganda, we believe that becoming a teenage mother should not mean the end of a young woman’s dreams. Through our support programs, teenage mothers are being given a second chance to rebuild their lives, develop practical skills, protect their health, and create better futures for themselves and their children.
Our skills development initiatives are equipping teenage mothers with practical vocational skills, including tailoring, electrical engineering, hair waving and modern farming. These skills are designed to help young mothers move from dependency toward economic independence. With the right training, a young mother can develop a source of income, support her child’s needs and regain confidence in her ability to shape her future.
We also provide sexual and reproductive health education to help teenage mothers understand their bodies, make informed decisions and prevent repeated teenage pregnancies. Through regular education and mentorship, they receive guidance on responsible relationships, reproductive health, family planning, and the importance of protecting their future.
The wellbeing of their children remains equally important. Children of the teenage mothers receive milk powder and access to free medicines when needed, helping families address basic health and nutritional needs that could otherwise become overwhelming.
Monthly mentorship sessions provide continued encouragement, life-skills education, personal guidance and opportunities for young mothers to discuss challenges affecting their lives.
Donor support makes this transformation possible. Every contribution helps provide training materials, mentorship, health support, nutrition and opportunities for young mothers to become self-reliant. By investing in these young women today, donors are helping restore hope, strengthen families and build communities where teenage mothers and their children can look forward to a brighter tomorrow.
