Five Signs of Emotional Suffering Now Available in 11 Languages
Last month, during Mental Health Awareness Month, Give an Hour launched the 2nd Annual Week to Change Direction on May 18 – 24th. This virtual event shined a light on how people around the world are taking care of their mental health. Even though many of us are still experiencing social distancing due to the Coronavirus pandemic, people participated in their own virtual events that encouraged others to stay connected and stay mentally healthy. We had participation from 32 countries and all 50 states who shared a Healthy Habit of Emotional Well-being, downloaded one of our Coronavirus resources, or our 11 translations of the Five Signs of Emotional Suffering.
Through Give an Hour’s Campaign to Change Direction, we have created a common language that allows us to recognize five key signs of emotional suffering in ourselves and others and encourages us to care for our mental well-being and the mental well-being of others.
During A Week to Change Direction, we were proud to announce that our Five Signs of Emotional Suffering resource is available now in 11 languages: English, Arabic, Czech, Georgian, Hebrew, Nepali, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukraini. We invite everyone, especially our GlobalGiving friends and donors around the world to. visit our website and share this free resource. We would love to see how you use the resources. It is so very important to now – more than ever – to stay emotionally healthy during this difficult time. Please share on your social media platforms using #ChangeDirection.
“At Give an Hour, we have a lofty goal,” said Randy Phelps, PhD, CEO of Give an Hour. “We want to change the culture of mental health by educating everyone to pay attention to their mental health as much as they do their physical health”.
Give an Hour is grateful to the GlobalGiving donors who support our project. Together, we can change the culture of mental health around the world.
Thank you.
