Houston Arts Alliance is a local arts and culture organization whose principal work is to implement the City of Houston's vision, values, and goals for its arts grantmaking and civic art investments. HAA also executes privately funded projects to meet the needs of the arts community, such as disaster preparation, equity in the arts and arts education, research on the state of the arts in Houston, and temporary public art projects. HAA helps artists and nonprofits be bold, productive and strong.
Houston's creative class has suffered tremendously due to the long-term impacts of recent disasters. The loss of work, livelihood, and mental and emotional strain due to unprecedented disasters caused an urgent need for recovery and resiliency services in the industry. Our arts community's recovery is a social necessity and an economic imperative. Arts and Culture are the foundation of a thriving community whose members provide immense value to the quality of life of Houstonians.
Together, we can provide critically needed services to make our arts and culture sector resilient. HAA responds to the needs of our community by providing disaster preparation and recovery efforts.
