Hello everyone!
It is time for an update from us in Pattaya again. Thank you for your continued support of us here in Thailand. In the last months, a lot has happened regarding our housing situations. We had the Tamar Vocational and Life Training happening, and all 13 women graduated successfully from it. With so many women joining our training our accommodation got really stretched. On top of that we started to employ a couple of extra women that needed a job urgently and we found out that one of them was in urgent need for housing for herself and her two children as well.
So, what did we do? We looked around our street and noticed that two houses where freshly renovated and available for renting. We talked to the owners and thanks to Covid-19 they were willing to give the houses to us for a cheaper rent than some of the other houses that we rented. We decided to give up two of the older houses and rent two of the newly renovated once, which are also a little bigger.
In early October it was moving day and you can see in the pictures that everybody got involved and helped moving. It is always amazing how much stuff gets collected in the houses – but after a whole day of sweaty work, the job was done and now the women are happy to be in their new rooms.
Currently we have 32 women employed at Tamar and most of them also staying with us, which is a new record. But right now, every single available bed is full, and we are again keeping our eyes open for more housing in case we receive more women that want to join.
Thanks to your help and support we can continue to reach out a helping hand to the women and children in need here in Pattaya.
Thank you!
