Winter in Ukraine is a fight for survival. Missile attacks have destroyed energy infrastructure in Kyiv and other regions, leaving thousands without electricity, heat, or the ability to cook as temperatures fall to -20C. The Ukrainian Food Banks Federation provides lifesaving hot meals through food trucks and soup kitchens. Just $2 provides one hot meal - often the only warm food vulnerable people receive this winter.
Winter in Ukraine has become a fight for survival. In Kyiv and the surrounding region, relentless Russian missile attacks have destroyed critical energy infrastructure, leaving entire communities without electricity, heating or means to prepare meals. Power outages last up to 24 hours a day. Nearly 3000 apartment buildings are without heat. Temperatures have dropped to -15 and -20 Celsius, and new attacks threaten to plunge the capital into even deeper darkness and cold.
In this project, the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation (UFBF) is helping the people of Ukraine by providing hot meals in addition to regular food support. UFBF, along with its partners, is operating food trucks and soup kitchens, which have become the only source of hot meals for vulnerable groups in the population. Your contribution of just 2 USD can provide 1 hot meal, potentially saving a life this winter.
This project aims to ensure that Spring arrives for the people of Ukraine. It connects individuals of goodwill both within the country and around the globe, providing support to those in need today. This truly touching initiative will instil hope and new energy, helping to develop communities as they prepare for the next Winter.
