Due to heavy rains construction was stopped for about 8 weeks. However, the construction has resumed now and is making good progress.
We also like to share good news with you. It costs around $700 per year to train and rehabilitate a special child at our school in Narasipura Village. Government of Karnataka after extensive due diligence has agreed to fund the annual expenses for 43 children. We expect that this level of financial support will continue in the years to come. We consider this as very good development as we can now focus our attention to more important issues related to empowering our children afflicted with Cerebral Palsy.
Our fund raising goal through Global Giving for the hostel was to raise $35,000. So far the amount raised is around $24,000 an increase of only around $500 since our last report. Therefore, we request you to please consider making additional donation to bring this campaign to a successful conclusion. We thank you sincerely for saving that special place in your heart for our children. Below are few photos of the progress made so far and also a link to a short video about Dharithree.
